Steven J. Huskey
Steven J. Huskey has made a career out of mixing technology, storytelling, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. A Certified Google Product Expert with more than 15 Google and Microsoft certifications, he’s authored four books on online marketing, taught Internet Marketing at Concordia University, and currently runs High 5 Promotions—where he helps businesses navigate Google Ads, SEO, and YouTube with a mix of technical know-how and trial-and-error persistence.
Professional Speaker, Radio Voice
Steve didn’t come to technology the easy way. By eight years old, he was programming computers; by ten, building radios from spare parts. He sent his first email in 1986, back when most people thought “the Internet” was a science fiction concept. Since then, he’s stacked up four decades of programming experience and learned to read eleven computer languages.
But his story isn’t just about tech. Steven has lived in three countries, traveled widely enough to fill a passport in record time, and experienced cultures ranging from communism to socialism to constitutional republics. Those adventures weren’t always comfortable. In Venezuela, he was kidnapped by three armed men and—without knowing the language—managed to negotiate his way to freedom. After that, every other negotiation in life has felt refreshingly low-stakes.
Outside of work, Steven has racked up eclectic awards as an angler, athlete, salsa chef, and even a science fair competitor. He’s an organic gardener, fitness junkie, volunteer, and card-carrying member of two beer clubs. At home in Texas, he juggles being a father of two, a pet rescuer, and an unapologetic tinkerer who insists on “messing things up first so others don’t have to.”
For all the credentials, Steven prefers to describe himself simply: a problem solver who likes to laugh at himself while figuring things out. Whether it’s cracking Google’s latest algorithm, testing a marketing campaign, or just perfecting his salsa recipe, he approaches every challenge with curiosity, stubbornness, and a healthy dose of humor.
